Architecture award for lifelong home to Hrivnak & Associates

ArCH Award for a Chicago home, Saint Charles architect

Saint Charles, Illinois; June 30, 2017 –– Hrivnak & Associates was awarded by Architects Creating Homes for a lifelong home design in ArCH’s 2017 international competition. “As aging in place and multi-generational housing become popular, this home is a great example of a lifelong living space,” says the firm’s principal architect John Hrivnak.

Hrivnak’s winning design is suited for aging in place due to its door widths, accessibility on the main floor and stairwell sized for a future elevator shaft. The multi-generational home is perfect for the clients, a couple with two adult children, kept in mind during the design process as likely future owners of the home. Hrivnak is known as the architect with heart - his specialty is designing homes for multi-generational living, aging in place and clients with special needs.

ArCH announced the Design Excellence wins June 1. ArCH is an American-based international organization of licensed architects focusing on residential architecture, professional excellence, achievement, client value and service. A juror from the competition complemented Hrivnak on his ability to diversify his talents among several niches. “Mr. Hrivnak has the uncanny ability to swiftly immerse himself into any vernacular, then create a design of maturity and excellence.”
