Thoughtful, Caring Design with Dignity
Designing with Universal Design principles means thoughtfully addressing the needs of all in all that we do. We endeavor to create Dignity, Freedom, Choice and Independence for every person who experiences the spaces we create.
Additions and Renovations are more challenging than new construction for a host of reasons - they need architects and builders familiar with their inherent challenges. Existing structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing become as important as designing to complement a given style while meeting current building codes.
Design for care facilities includes everything from adapting an existing residence for aging or handicap provisions to medical clinics and senior housing and aging environments. The common denominator, according to John Hrivnak, is to create Dignity, Freedom, Independence and Choice. Those goals are met, in part, by using Universal Design Principles.
After my home inspection I had some concerns regarding the structure. I hired John to take a look at the home and give his expert opinion. He not only did a great job at that but went above and beyond and took a look at many other pain points I had from the initial report. He also spoke directly with the home owner regarding some repairs that should be made and instructed how the home owner could do so. The home owner ended up repairing the items John recommended saving me time and hassle in the future. Extremely impressed with John's work and would highly, highly recommend.
Dear John Hrivnak,
Just a note to let you know how absolutely pleased we were with the plans you drew up for our house additions and renovations. After working with other architects and seemingly getting nowhere, you came in, listened to our needs and requests then added your expertise and talent. The results could not have been better - spot on!
Thank you - Thank you - Thank you
John and his team were perfect fit for our 60's ranch rehab in Elgin, Illinois. We needed someone who could make our creative ideas bloom and keep them realistic. This ambitious DIY project benefited not only from his vast design history but also his experience with building and zoning departments. He gets a special merit badge for navigating Cook County! He worked within our budget and allowed for in-the-field creativity. His strengths include listening, pulling out the essence of our desires, and interpreting that via exciting design options. We also loved his ability to bring an artist's heart to the architect's desk.
When you want creative, unique solutions that address your specific needs and need to control costs, you have come to the right place. In addition to being a licensed architect with decades of experience, John Hrivnak teaches architecture as an adjunct professor, has an MBA in finance (costs matter), real estate experience, sustainability and design for aging and handicap (including ADA) expertise.
Nothing is more exciting than creating a new project for your business or personal life, and nothing will affect the success of your project more than the right architect. The architect determines the design and function of a space or building as well as the emotional toll and financial costs involved in its construction.
